    Position Summary

    The Digital Sales Manager for the dominant legacy station of KGET, Telemundo the only spanish news broadcast in Kern County and the CW-Bakersfield, will oversee a robust digital product line and an experienced sales department.  

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities

    Full Time

    Exempt (not eligible for over time): 

     

    Brief description of duties & responsibilities:

     

    1. Provides leadership for the digital sales team.
    2. Develops and executes sales strategies which result in exceeding revenue targets in local digital and new product revenue. 
    3. Drives new digital business development.
    4. Manages inventory and revenue forecasting.
    5. Manages recruitment and development of talented sales professionals.
    6. Prepares digital budgets
    7. Resolves customer complaints regarding sales and service.
    8. Performs other duties as assigned.

     

    Work experience and education required for position:

    1. Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Advertising or Mass Communications, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and work related experience.
    2. Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record.
    3. Experience guiding, directing and motivating, including setting performance standards and monitoring performance.
    4. Experience establishing long-range objectives and specifying the strategies and actions to achieve them.
    5. Ability to identify the developmental needs of others and to coach, mentor or otherwise help others to improve their knowledge or skills.
    6. Proficiency with computers, telephones, copiers, scanners, fax machines and other office equipment.
    7. The Digital Sales Manager must be able to sit, conduct telephone conversations, use electronic mail, write letters and memos, conduct face-to-face discussions with individuals or groups, make decisions without supervision, make decisions that impact the results of co-workers, work in close proximity to others, work outdoors in all weather conditions, and work indoors in environmentally controlled conditions.

     

    Special Skills Required:

     

    1. Fluency in English.
    2. Excellent communication skills, both oral and written.
