    Position Summary

    WSAV-TV in beautiful Savannah, Georgia is hiring an experienced Production Specialist to be a Director/Editor/Photographer.  This is a great position to be able to put all your skills to use in a job where the assignment changes daily in a place that has all the newest technology.  This multi-faceted job requires experience directing daily studio newscasts, use of ENPS newsroom software and the Grass Valley Ignite Automation system, location directing or being a replay operator using the latest Newtek Tricaster equipment. You’ll need great editing skills using Adobe Premier to put together commercials and marketing projects.  You’ll work for our marketing department shooting with news team members, editing marketing projects daily and put your creative talents to work on long form programming for our daily lifestyle show.  You’ll be shooting anything from live sports, single person interviews to multi-camera commercial client projects.  Newscasts are aired from our modern studio using the Grass Valley Ignite Production Automation system.  Directing in the field from our mobile unit is done using the newest Tricaster 8000 and 3Play 425 replay equipment.  Audio from our mobile unit is mixed on a Behringer X32 board. Use of a wide range of professional video cameras, DSLR cameras, wired and wireless microphones, LED lighting in the field and studio is essential.  Jib experience and operation of other motion controlled devices is a plus and being an experienced audio operator/mixer for live events is a big plus.  Must be willing and physically able to spend months of long days and nights in the summer heat of South Georgia setting up for remote High School football broadcasts, doing the show then striking and packing all the gear on location. Experience on an expert level with most of these jobs is required for consideration.  Must be able to drive a large truck and expertly tow and maneuver our 24-foot production trailer. Must be able to pass DOT certification for commercial driver.  If you are a master of most of these disciplines, we would be willing to train the right directing candidate on the Grass Valley Ignite Automation system.  But the expectation is you would hit the ground running on everything else described here. This is not your typical director position but a great job in media doing just about everything in a super nice facility with all the latest and greatest gear.

    Experienced newscast and remote productions Director. Expert working knowledge of ENPS newsroom software. Experienced operator of Newtek Tricaster 8000 and 3play 425 replay machine. Audio operator for live remote broadcasts. Great working knowledge of all types of wired and wireless microphones.  Experienced LNE operator using Adobe Premier.  Editor using Grass Valley Edious.  Great eye for photography and lighting.  Master operator of all professional type video cameras, DSLR cameras and lenses.  Jib operator.  Must be able to drive a large truck and expertly tow and maneuver our 24-foot production trailer.
