    Position Summary

    Nexstar Digital is the digital subsidiary of Nexstar Media Group Inc. (NASDAQ: NXST) that offers media companies and advertisers a comprehensive suite of leading digital solutions and services focused on audience targeting, user engagement, and the overall performance of online, mobile, and multimedia content and marketing campaigns.

     

    JOB SUMMARY:  This position reports directly to the Accounting Manager and assists the accounting department in creating accurate and timely financial statements for various divisions of Nexstar Digital. This position requires a proactive individual with strong analytical skills who has an ability to organize and manage workflow.

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities

     

    Principal Duties & Responsibilities:

    • Prepare month end journal entries and balance sheet reconciliations. Maintain balance sheet accounts and reconcile, investigate, and resolve any accounting errors or discrepancies.
    • Assist in month end closing and ensure all financial reporting deadlines are met.
    • Maintain all customer cards within financial system. Coordinate quarterly audits of all customer card details.
    • Assisst with year end audit requests.
    • Identify efficiencies within the accounting department and recommend process changes to the Accounting Manager or Controller.
    • Update accounting policy and procedure documents as necessary.
    • Perform such other accounting, financial, or administrative tasks as may be required from tim to time - quite often on short notice – by the Head of Finance, Controller, or Accounting Manager.

     

    Specialized Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

    • Must be highly detailed, deadline oriented, and organized.
    • Must be highly skilled in dealing with financial and numeric data.
    • Must be skilled in use of MS Excel Spreadsheets.
    • Must be skilled in use of Microsoft Word and must possess above average writing skills.
    • Must have very good verbal and communication skills.
    • Must have excellent work habits, including a willingness to work the hours necessary to get the job done, especially when important deadlines cause greater than normal departmental pressures.

     

    Education/ExperienceA Bachelors defree in accounting, or a Bachelors degree in business with emphasis in accounting, is required. Degree(s) must be from a credible college or university. A minimum of 2 years experience in accounting is required. Experience with MicrosoftAX is a plus.

     

    Work Environment/Mental/Physical RequirementsFast-paced office environment with deadlines.  Successful candidates are comfortable with day-to-day multi-tasking, as well as managing multiple projects simultaneously with frequent change in direction and priority. After all, it is digital.
