    Position Summary

    WKRG TV 5 seeks a Broadcast Engineer who has the skills for the maintenance and repair of broadcast equipment at the studio and transmitter site. A successful candidate must be a highly-motivated and willing to develop strong studio, remote, IT and RF skills.

     

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

    • 5 years previous broadcast engineering experience. Associate degree in electronics, communications, or equivalent combination of education and work-related experience preferred.
    • The ability to terminate broadcast and IT related cables is required.
    • Experience with Broadcast automation systems, routers, video storage devices, SAN storage, satellite ground stations, and RF preferred.
    • Strong interpersonal and organization skills
    • Participate in managing and maintaining all broadcast and technology related equipment within the facility.
    • Provide Desktop support.
    • Ability to meet deadlines, prioritize assignments, and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
    • Be on call and able to work after hours, weekends and holidays.
    •  ‘Can Do’ attitude, desire to learn new skills consistent with good engineering/IT practices. 
    • Other duties as needed.

     

    Physical Demands & Work Environment:

     

    The Maintenance Engineer must be able to stand, sit, reach, climb, conduct telephone conversations, use electronic mail, write letters and memos, conduct face-to-face discussions department heads, individuals or groups, make decisions without supervision, and work outdoors in all weather conditions. Must be able to lift 50 lbs.
