    Position Summary

    The Automotive Marketing Specialist understands the unique needs of auto dealers, identifies problems and builds solutions to help streamline the connection of in-market auto buyers to the dealer’s website and in-store visits. The AMS analyzes quantitative data, knows where to find typical problem areas on dealer’s websites that impact sales, translates their digital advertising expertise to provide auto dealers with an actionable marketing strategy. The AMS will partner with our account strategy team to evaluate the optimization and performance of the dealer’s recommended investment across Nexstar’s suite of digital advertising / marketing enterprise / broadcast solutions, reaching target auto buyers wherever they are. This candidate’s DNA includes providing outstanding customer service daily and will work with existing WSAV Account Executives and managers, along with individually targeting dealerships in the Savannah market, ultimately driving revenue.

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities


    • Desire to exceed assigned revenue goals
    • Provide expert automotive knowledge gained through experience to WSAV Account Executives and Leadership Team, sharing best practices and automotive industry insights
    • Identifies target accounts, sets appointments with dealer principles, able to diagnose problems by researching a dealer’s business & website prior to the sales call to assess, develop plans for areas for growth (cross-sell/up-sell/new customers) and manages overall automotive portfolio plus auto dealer account retention
    • Must demonstrate knowledge of digital marketing strategies, basic understanding of auto dealer websites, including SEO, SEM, Facebook, programmatic display, video pre-roll, reputation management, sponsorships, custom programs and broadcast. Knowledge of dealer’s in-store event activations is a plus
    • Knowledge of website analytics tools Google Adwords and Google Analytics
    • Understands how to diagnose key areas of an auto dealer’s website with understanding inventory, aging inventory, specials page, ease of website navigation and typical problems where broken website links occur
    • Detail oriented to self Q&A campaign recommendations including creative, disclaimers, landing pages and website conversion links
    • Maintains a continuously improving level of the auto industry and digital ad technology solutions
    • Performs other duties as assigned


    Preferred Qualifications:

    • Previous automotive, media or media sales / service / support experience
    • Proficient with Microsoft Office, especially Excel (certification a plus) and PowerPoint
    • Google AdWords, Bing Ads and Google Analytics certifications
    • Comfortable managing and optimizing digital media accounts
    • Capability to predict client and organizational needs proactively
