    Position Summary

    JOB SUMMARY:  The VP, Engineering is responsible for leading all platform engineering efforts. Assess all existing systems and combine into single instances by developing functionality required by all product lines and service.

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities

    Principal Duties & Responsibilities:

    • Establish the global vision and strategy for infrastructure architecture, engineering, operations, and site reliability practices.
    • Develop an annual IT plan and budget which aligns with Company goals and objectives.
    • Ensure our infrastructure is horizontally scalable, highly available, and modular enough to scale up without significant changes to tooling or architecture.
    • Promote Agile at scale.
    • Define and manage Disaster Recovery strategy and plan.
    • When applicable, serve as the Data Privacy Officer for the organization.
    • Make investment and priority trade-off decisions, reduce operating costs, improve operational efficiency and time-to-market and to ensure reliability.
    • Deliver customer and business value by partnering and collaborating with leaders to shape the technology services strategy and roadmap.
    • Oversee the relationships with IT service providers and consultants; negotiate rates and contracts.
    • Directly manage the infrastructure team and development team, providing individual goals and career development opportunities that align with company objectives. Provide consistent and ongoing coaching and feedback and foster a culture of accountability.
    • Manage and establish priorities for maintenance, design, development and analysis of infrastructure systems (network, internet and security), including software and hardware standards

    Specialized Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

    • Passion for staying on top of technology trends and best practices by experimenting with and learning new technologies.
    • Experience with the latest automated continuous delivery solutions.
    • Significant experience in information technology and software engineering.
    • Proven management leadership experience running professional technology teams.
    • The ability to attract and retain a technical team.
    • Proven success in, and genuine enthusiasm for, working directly with technical teams to empower them through mentorship and training.
    • Knowledge of security strategies and techniques.

    Education/Experiencebachelor’s degree in computer science or related technical discipline (with significant computer coursework) from an accredited four-year university. 15 years of related work experience. 10 years of experience managing an engineering team.

     

    Training/EquipmentExperience with Microsoft Office.  Experience with large scale data systems and programmatic advertising platforms.

     

    Work Environment/Mental/Physical RequirementsHigh stress office environment with deadline pressures.  Position will require day-to-day multi-tasking, and well as managing multiple projects simultaneously with frequent change in direction and priority.
