    Position Summary

    JOB SUMMARY:  The Programmatic Supervisor is a key member of the Nexstar Digital Agency Services team.  They are a proven leader who will help the NXD Programmatic team deliver best in class solutions for our clients.


    Day to day, the Supervisor will guide and teach the other members of the Programmatic team to improve their skills and the results for our clients.  They have the ability to expertly manage display and video campaigns from end to end in various DSPs, as well as to inspire that ability in others.  They are willing to take on a leadership role and share responsibility for the work of others.


    The Supervisor will lead collaboration with a best-in-class digital activation team, including Ad Operations, Client Success, and Media Strategy, on structuring and executing campaigns to meet and exceed client KPIs.


    The ideal candidate has a healthy understanding of digital performance analytics, a passion for data analysis, and the ability to communicate effectively with both digital and non-digital professionals.  They are naturally curious, detail-oriented, and willing to explore opportunities for growth and improvement for the entire Programmatic team. 

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities

    Principal Duties & Responsibilities:

    • Provide ongoing training, feedback, guidance, and support to Programmatic team members to improve personal as well as team performance.
    • Manage and oversee team’s day to day responsibilities and assignments to ensure that each client, campaign, and team member has the appropriate resources.
    • Serve as important escalation point on campaigns for internal teams and the clients they represent.
    • Setup and activate campaigns in various platforms for strategic/key accounts and provide support for these accounts managed by other members of the team.
    • Support Director/Associate Director as a point of contact for external vendors and partners, including DSPs, data and/or inventory providers.
    • Support leadership during testing of new vendors, technology, products, etc., as needed with the goal of driving innovation, improving results, and meeting business objectives for the team and company.
    • Lead meetings between Programmatic team and other internal and/or external parties to determine best practices around campaign optimization strategies and executions.
    • Maintain a refined knowledge of the entire digital media landscape to make sure team is up to date on industry trends and developments.


    Specialized Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

    • Extensive knowledge of the programmatic buying landscape and real-time media buying.
    • Thorough experience with viewability/ad fraud, verification, and other ad serving technologies.
    • Proven ability to manage Programmatic Display/Video campaigns with various KPIs including lead generation/conversions/CPA, video completion, viewability, click-through rate, and more.
    • Demonstrated leader in a collaborative team environment.
    • “Buck-stops-here” accountability that treats our clients’ campaigns and budgets as if they were their own.
    • Natural problem-solver who is both curious and thrives under pressure and deadlines. 
    • Ability to simplify the complex and can present and analyze campaign performance data effectively and efficiently.

    • Excellent oral & written communication.


    Education/ExperienceBS/BA from an accredited four-year university or equivalent related work experience and 5+ years of experience in the Programmatic arena is key.  Success managing and leading other team members.  Deep understanding of process and product improvement is a plus.


    Training/EquipmentExperience with programmatic buying platforms like The Trade Desk,, Beeswax, DBM, AppNexus, and/or others; strong proficiency in  G-Suite and Microsoft Office desktop applications, particularly Excel; familiarity with HTML/CSS and data visualization tools is a plus.


    Work Environment/Mental/Physical RequirementsFast-paced office environment with deadlines.  Successful candidates are comfortable with day-to-day multi-tasking, as well as managing multiple projects simultaneously with frequent change in direction and priority. After all, it is digital.
